With experience working as an EMT and at a recovery center, Victoria Moreno had been in the medical field, but too many barriers stood in the way of achieving her goal of becoming a nurse.
When her father experienced a serious medical issue, she saw how the nurses cared for him and was inspired to reach for her dream. Now she’s enrolled in the Presbyterian Nursing Career Pathways Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program while working as a medical assistant at a Presbyterian Medical Group (PMG) clinic. She says it’s one of the best things she’s done in her life.
Financial assistance from Presbyterian, the ability to work while going to school, plus encouragement from her supportive husband make it possible.
The Nursing Career Pathways program is a partnership with Unitek Learning-Brookline College.
“I wouldn’t have been able to afford a nursing degree without the financial assistance from Presbyterian.”
