The Presbyterian Robert Wertheim Hospice House is a place where patients and families find comfort, connection and dignity during life’s most delicate and final moments.

Designed to feel more like a home than a hospital, the space allows patients to be surrounded by what matters most, whether that is family, familiar routines or the comfort of being cared for by people who take the time to know them.

That sense of home carries through in everyday moments, allowing patients to spend time outdoors, share meals that feel like home and celebrate meaningful moments with the people around them.

One patient requested a meal she hadn’t had in years, and her daughter was able to cook it for her in the hospice kitchen, filling the space with something familiar.

Getting to care is only part of the journey. The support patients need often includes the everyday essentials that make treatment possible, like a place to stay, a ride to an appointment or help covering costs during treatment.

Patient assistance provides direct support so patients can stay on track with their care and focus on healing.

For many patients, managing their health starts long before they see a doctor. It starts with access to fresh food, education and support they can rely on. Through Presbyterian’s Community Health programs, your giving helps remove barriers that stand in the way of better outcomes.

The Food Farmacy Program connects patients to nutritious food, hands-on education and a supportive environment where they can take charge of their health. In 2025, the program expanded to Presbyterian Rust Medical Center, reaching even more families in Rio Rancho with fresh produce and practical guidance from a registered dietitian. This work is part of a broader Community Health effort focused on meeting patients where they are and supporting healthier lives across the communities Presbyterian serves.

Because you give:

  • 1,063 patients participated in the Food Farmacy Program

  • 160,749 pounds of fresh food were distributed to patients

  • A new full-time Community Health worker position was funded

Your support brings care beyond clinic walls and into everyday life, where it matters most.
